Ministry spokeswoman Jolanta Kowalski said Tuesday that officers had gone to the ravine along Niagara Parkway where the coyotes were dumped. However, she said the bodies had decomposed significantly since their initial discovery two weeks ago.
“The carcasses were thrown down a steep embankment adjacent to the Niagara River which made it difficult for conservation officers to gain access to the site,” Kowalski said in an email. “Unfortunately, due to the length of time the carcasses had been exposed to the elements it was difficult to determine if an offence had been committed.”
