The Ministry of Natural Resources is looking for help to identify who is responsible for shooting a pregnant cow moose in the Timmins area last month.

Conservation officers received a complaint on the morning of April 29 of an injured cow moose at the side of the road near Kamiskotia Lake, the MNR said in a release.

The moose had to be euthanized because of its injuries and its calf fetus was also lost, the MNR said.

Further investigation determined the moose had been shot in the neck and spine, officials said.

Anyone who has information is asked to contact the MNR TIPS line at 1-877-847-7667 toll-free, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS or contact the ministry’s Timmins district office during regular business hours at 705-235-1300.
