Peterborough County snowmobiler fined for chasing coyote

A Peterborough County man who chased a coyote with his snowmobile on Stoney Lake has been fined a total of $3,000.

Robert Little pleaded guilty March 8 to offences under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act and Motorized Snow Vehicles Act in Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough

Justice of the Peace Jason Mariasine fined Little $1,500 for using a vehicle to pursue wildlife; $500 for driving a snowmobile without a permit; $500 for driving a snowmobile without valid insurance; and $500 for failing to wear a proper helmet while driving a snowmobile, according to a release from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
