Three Chelmsford men have been fined a total of $6,000 for fishing quota violations. Joel Rouleau, Ryan Lalonde and Guy Brosseau were each fined $2,000 for unlawfully possessing an over-limit of walleye

Court heard that on June 22, 2013, a conservation officer inspected the three men on the RushLake Road, Mallard Township.

He found a stringer of six walleye in their boat and a cooler containing 36 wall eye at their campsite. Their combined catch of 42 fish exceeded the legal limit by 30.

Justice of the Peace Jean-Marie Blier heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Chapleau, on September 11, 2013.

The Ministry of Natural Resources reminds anglers that possession limits are in place to ensure the sustainability of fishery resources.
